What kind of motorcycle jacket is better for a sport bike?

Textile or Leather Also I am looking to buy a Honda CBR600 or a Suzuki GSX 600 but I don't know if I am tall enough to ride them, Which would you recommend for a height of 5'8"?

if you can put your feet flat on the ground when you are on the bike then you are tall enough to ride it. i prefer the textile jackets because they are easier to care for than leather.

As most experienced riders will tell you it isn't if ,,,its when you go down that matters . And what matters is what you are wearing Leather will protect and take abuse .Denim will protect minimally. All others tend to melt and adhere to skin and cause bad burns and scars. Please do not go cheap and risk that.. Your tall enough but are you strong enough if it falls on its side can you pick it up yourself??/

You should be tall enough. go to a showroom and hop on a bike you like and see if you can reach the ground from both sides at the same time or only one side. friend of mine got a low rider type design as he is only 5'4" so could not quite reach the ground on both sides of normal height bikes.

From personal experience get leather. Reason is it is best should you wipe out and definitely count on wiping out sometime in your riding future. Leather is also better should inclement weather sneak up on you. Better at wind breaking (get jacket with wind barrier behind zipper), better at moisture resistance and real good for wipeouts (survives a long slide better).

Further never wear nylon underwear (or nylon clothing of any type) as if you slide down the pavement on your ass after a wipeout it'll melt from the slide into your butt cheeks and may have to be cut out (this hurts by the way) so cotton undies. Nylon melts with heat and burns into anything in contact like skin.

don't worry about the height, there are people with 5'2''-5'3'' riding, and unless you're 120 pounds or less you'll be alright with the bike…
with the jackets-I'm 120% for the leather ones, that's the best protection out there when you're riding on a sport bike with 100 mph or more…otherwise you can buy a scooter…and also for the jackets I'll go with the brand names like alpine*,technik or Joe rocket…

Save your pennies and get a VANSON leather jacket and a decent pair of chaps.

i would go with leather. and dont be cheap because it is your skin you are really putting the price tag on.

Both those bikes are pretty low as it is. I am an inch shorter than you and I have a gixxer 750. As for the best type of jacket, go leather all the way. Take it from a guy who has high sided off his motorcycle going 115mph on the race track. I ride Dainese one piece with Alpine Star boots. I also have a 2 piece Alpine Star for ride around town. If you have money to spend, go Helimot if you can afford the custom made jacket and pants.
