What is a good brand of motorcycle clothing for road use?

By admin · Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Looking for a good brand of protective clothing for motorcyle use,

I ride a Yamaha TTR enduro type bike so nothing skin tight like for sports bikes.

Looking for a Jacket and pants/trousers.

Aerostitch, Motoport, and BMW (whoever makes their line of clothing) sell some of the best textile street clothing. You do pay for what you get.

If price is an issue, I like First Gear too.

Here is a site for motorcycle gear. I personally would go with Joe Rocket for decently priced gear. Icon and Frank Thomas fall apart at the stiching, so don't buy that gear. I personally ride in Alpinestar two piece leather for street and Dainese one piece leather on the track mixed in with my Daytona boots and Joe Rocket gloves. You do get what you pay for. My boots alone cost $900 and my Dainese one piece suit cost $1000. I have already crashed on the track twice in this gear and got up and walked away. Or in my case rode my bike off the track.

I like Icon and A Star

Akito is a lot better than it used to be. Also find your local branch of Hein Gericke, and see what they've got – they are usually good value for money, and know what they are doing as they are generally staffed by bikers.

This depends on where you are and the conditions that you usually experience.

I prefer Dririder gear.
